Pricing

 Every book is different, so we always customize our publishing packages and tailor our book design to meet your specific needs.

In general, you should expect to pay five to six cents per word for a fully edited, designed, printed, and distributed book.

This includes:

Editing services

  • Written editorial assessment of manuscript.

  • Copyediting—correcting spelling, grammar, word usage, and punctuation.

    Includes conceptual assessment and conceptual suggestions regarding

    narrative consistency, points of view (POV), and accuracy across the

    manuscript.

  • Assistance with descriptive details and “flow” and suggested changes for

    story impact.

  • Suggestions and rewriting to increase clarity and readability.

  • Suggestions and examples for maintenance of author’s unique “voice.”

  • Cross-checking references, dates, general historical accuracy.

Publishing services

  • Provide formatting and interior layout design (includes consultation to

    streamline font selections, headers, callout selections, etc.)

  • Inclusion of photos and/or artwork and design inserts (up to ten total).

  • Additional inserts may be added at $10 each.

  • Design and provide professional full-color front and back cover

    designs.

  • Detailed book description for back cover, and descriptions and ad copy

    for sales promotions.

  • Formatting of manuscript for print distribution worldwide, and e-book

    publication and distribution (Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook, Apple Books,

    Kobo, etc.)

  • Production of all cover and interior files for printing and distribution

    to retail stores worldwide and all online booksellers.

  • Both softcover and hardcover print books available

  • All necessary ISBNs and barcodes.

  • Submission to Library of Congress Control Number program.

  • Book listing in books-in-print databases.


Special needs or complicated layouts cost more. Once we have a working idea of the format of your book, we send you a proposal with an exact price for the work you require. We also offer professional editing, quoted on a per-project basis depending on the level of edit desired: Assessment, Developmental, Structural, Copy, Proofreading—or any combination of these.

Inscribe Press is unique, in that we offer consultation services to authors wishing to take the plunge into self-publishing.

We will advise and direct you as you learn the basics and work through the many tasks you need to complete between the finished manuscript and the published book. We are also happy to assist you in the details of setting up your account through printers and distributors such Ingram Spark, Kindle Direct Publishing, Book Baby, etc. Fees for this service vary and are available upon request.
